Ken Haven has been CEO of Acorn Product Development since the company’s founding in 1993. Ken has more than 25 years of product development experience including technical leadership roles with NeXT Computer, Attain, Inc., and Hewlett-Packard. He holds MS and BS degrees in mechanical engineering from Cornell University.
Mr. Feiock serves as Acorn’s CFO. Mike began his career as a CPA with Coopers & Lybrand and then spent more than 12 years in the wireless communications industry developing financial and sales organizations for cellular networks throughout the southeastern United States. Mr. Feiock has a degree in accounting from Indiana University.
Tim Lau co-founded Acorn with Ken, and is Acorn’s CTO. Tim has 25+ years product development experience in technology product development, and manufacturing liaison roles for NeXT Computer, Wyse Technology, and Plantronics. Tim holds a BS in mechanical engineering from University of Rochester and an MS in mechanical engineering from University of California, Berkeley.
Responsible for business development and sales in the Western United States, Bill has more than 20 years of experience in the high-tech sector, working for startups and established companies delivering mission critical solutions to his clients. Based at Acorn’s headquarters, he works with the Acorn engineering team to help clients bring their ideas and new products to production. Bill has a B.S. in chemistry from Rutgers and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickenson.
Gwynn leads the engineering team in our Silicon Valley Design Center. An Acorn veteran of more than 10 years, Gwynn is a leading expert in plastics and injection molding design and in structural and thermal analysis. She has deep expertise in manufacturing and assembly technologies and methods, and in high-volume manufacturing. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering from Stanford.
Brad is the engineering lead in our Southeastern design center, based in Atlanta, Georgia. He has led product development efforts with Acorn for more than five years, specializing in automation system simulation, mechanism design, and structural and thermal system design and analysis. He is a frequent conference speaker on the topic of Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA). Brad has a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Minxiang Liu leads the engineering team in our China Design Center. He has more than 17 years of product design and development experience and five years of teaching experience at the college level. He holds a MS degree in mechanical engineering from Northern Illinois University and BS degree in mechanical engineering from Shanghai University of Technology.
An Engineering Manager at Acorn, Mike holds a B.S and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara and San Diego respectively. With more than 13 years of product design and development experience across many disciplines and applications, Mike has been awarded 4 U.S. patents (7 more pending). He started his career in fuel cell and clinical diagnostics, where he gained experience in microfluidics. Mike is a leading expert in the medical device industry, with deep expertise in thermal and tolerance analysis, plastics and sheet metal, system design/architecture, and program management.
Tom leads the engineering team in our Boston design center. He specializes in mechanism design, structural analysis and vibration analysis. With over 10 years of experience in high volume manufacturing design Tom has a deep understanding of intersection of industrial automation and design for manufacturability. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island, a MS in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University and an MBA from Boston University
